DUE MONDAY

Write an essay on the following questions: 1 & 2
QUESTION:
1) Should the government provide health care to ALL American citizens?

2) IF you were a member of the HOUSE or SENATE which option would you propose as the Health Care Bill?

Directions for the essay:
1) Combine both questions into a thesis statement that you will prove in a persuasive essay (needed thesis/ body paragraphs (enough to convince me)/ conclusion)
2) Every idea needs to be backed up with evidence and examples from the videos or article
(cite your evidence= "quote" (Title 2). or information (Rachel Maddow Show).
3) Instruction in class on Thesis statement:
Components you need to include in a thesis statement:
LIMITED SUBJECT + ATTITUDE = SPECIFIC FEATURES = THESIS

* limited subject (choose ONE of the 4 options (included in your Green Handout: public option)
* Attitude is your feeling or persuasion of your specific features
* Specific Features are your examples or evidence to back up your ideas.

Example in Class:
Self-sustaining + confident/equality + 1) costs are covered 2)cost are less with private insurers 3) increased coverage

Then you create a sentence from this and it becomes a thesis statement
